Wrestling

Drake's first two matches. No wins yet but it isn't about that for him or me right now. He had fun and I enjoyed watching him try to figure out how it all works. The first we fought hard but were Pinned in the 3rd period. The second was a great match that we came up a little short at the end Losing 15-12. Enjoy

Christmas Eve

The anticipation of Santa coming was amazing this year! Drake and Avery were so excited. Drake heard the bells on Santa's sleigh several times in the night! He ate the Christmas cookies, drank the milk, and gave the carrots to the reindeer and elves :) We had a wonderful night and made great memories!

Happy Halloween!

We went to Night Eyes at Blank Park Zoo for the first time Saturday afternoon. Ellie Mumm and her parents joined us. It was warm enough outside for a sweatshirt and jeans which was a nice change from past Halloween weather. We saw a few animals. Some goats, chickens, lions, tiger, and some monkeys. The hadsponsors handing out candy. We even got to see BatWoman and Spiderman! We came home just in time to eat dinner and head out to the neighborhood for trick or treating. Drake and Avery were too funny trying to tell their jokes. Drake's joke was "what's a baseball player's favorite music?" Swing! He kept saying "what's a baseball player....swing!" People just laughed. Mom and Dad stood on the sidewalk and laughed too! Avery went as SpiderGirl and Drake was Iron Man. It was such a fun day and evening!

Family of Five!

We arrived at the hospital Tuesday morning to have a scheduled c-section at 7:15. Rob and I got there at 5:00. We soon found out we were going to be delayed. Around 10AM we finally got taken back to the OR. Rob got his scrubs on and I was sitting on the operating table. All of the sudden a bunch of people came rushing in and said we needed to move out. They had an emergency c-section that needed the room. So back we went to our room to wait. It 11:26 our bundle finally arrived. She was well worth the wait! Drake and Avery (and grandparents and Uncle Dan) had been patiently waiting since 8AM and were anxious to meet her!

She is Here!

Brooklyn Rae Walker was born September 28th at 11:26. She weighed 7lbs 7oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. She has a lot of dark hair and is just perfect! These are her hospital pictures and she was frowning, but still they turned out pretty cute! We got home on Friday and are just settling in with our new family of 5. We've been blessed with a lot of help from family and friends. We are so very blessed to have a healthy baby (who actually sleeps!). Drake and Avery have been so excited to have "Tootles" here. They do call her Brooklyn which surprises us since she was known as Tootles for so long. Avery wants to kiss her all the time. Drake has held her twice. He gets nervous holding her and wants mom to take her soon. Avery could hold her all day if we let her or until something else catches her attention! We are anxious to show her off to the world! Thankful to God everyday for such a wonderful life!

Wrapping Up the Summer Fun!

We ended our summer with a few trips to the Iowa State Fair. We want to plan on taking their pictures by the big "ball" every year to see how much they have grown. They were at a perfect age for the Little Hands on the Farm. It was so hot but their "pay" for working hard on the farm was a ice cream, so it worked out well! Wyatt and Whitney came and spent the night too. Whitney went with us to the wading pool and then of course we all got Happy Meals for lunch! It was great to have a slumber party and looking forward to many more!

Counting down the days until Tootles!

Down to 13 days and mommy finally got some belly pictures! Avery now asks to kiss "Tootles". I'm just hoping she is just as excited to keep her around! We have gotten things ready as much as we can with our house being for sale. She's going to sleep in our room for awhile....then we'll see! Sure wish we had that 4th bedroom, but are still blessed to have all we do! We weren't ready to put Drake and Avery together just yet. They are just now sleeping in their own rooms and falling asleep fairly easily (most nights). They always call her Tootles, so I think that will be a permanent nickname for her! Her real name will be announced upon arrival!! Everything looks great and we are scheduled for Sept. 28th!
